Wizards are your ranged destroyers. They are able to deal tonnes of damage from range. However, they can’t take too many hits.

Strengths
They can attack over walls and take some damage before going down.
They deal lots of splash damage from range and is much better than archers.
They are great against Clan Castle troops.
Weaknesses
Wizards are rather expensive compared to archers.
Tips
Wizards go well with either barbarians or giants. Giants and barbarians will tank tower shots while your wizards deal some devastating splash damage from afar.
A healer also goes well with a group of wizards. The healers will keep the wizards alive.
Deploy wizards in groups for more fire power. Alternatively, you can also spread them out to avoid getting splash targeted by mortars.
